Well, I keep singing the same tune, and so, here it is again: “What a difference a day makes….”
After one of the most angst ridden weekends of my life, things are slowly looking up.
Alex went for a series of Stress Tests at St. Paul’s Hospital on Tuesday. They put him through the gears. They made him run on a treadmill for a rather lengthy period of time. They plugged him into a variety of gizmos and put him through the paces. After he completed all the tests, the evaluator looked them over and told him that he was in GREAT SHAPE! No damage to his heart muscles…. What a relief! He needs to find some way of relieving his stress, though. That last part is my diagnosis and not the hospital’s.
Next, Nykie. He is on the way to recovery. His head no longer tilts to the right, he is not wobbling when he walks and “Praise BE”… he is eating on his own. Alex has discovered that Nykie doesn’t want to eat chicken or his tinned dog food anymore. He is now demanding marinated steak! With brown rice!! Sheesh! I should eat so well…. But, I will not begrudge him his food. Since this whole debacle with the “Old Dog Syndrome”, he has lost 1 1/2 kilos! That is way too much…. So, if it is steak he needs to keep his weight on, steak it is….
On the home front, we met with our banker on Saturday and he advised us that all 4 documents they needed for the Chattel Mortgage were now complete and that they were being sent off to Toronto for approval. We have been approved for the mortgage and it is just a matter of paperwork being approved. Talk about pins and needles!!! Hope we hear today.
Getting into the home stretch on “Barefoot in the Park”. Only 6 more performances before it closes. For those theatre buffs out there, it is a great show. Well, acted and if you watch closely, you will see my stage debut in this production. For tickets and information, check out http://www.metrotheatrevancouver.com
Once this production closes, I have about 24 hours before I start on Agatha Christie’s “Murder on the Nile”. Again, another great show, with fabulous sets and really good acting. Fortunately for me, I don’t have to be on stage for this one. Hooray!!!
This show runs from February 16 – March 16. Again, check out http://www.metrotheatrevancouver.com for tickets and show times.
Well, that is about it for now. Will send updates on the hubby, dog and house as soon as I get ’em….
